Exemplary Programs
Our school motto is recited each morning to start the day…”The Road to Success begins at Wilmington Manor Elementary School.” We firmly believe that we are providing the foundation for a lifelong journey of learning. Using the Common Core State Standards as the driving force behind our instruction, teachers strive to provide differentiated instruction to students during small groups and to deliver engaging, rigorous lessons to motivate all students to succeed. Teams of grade level teachers work collaboratively to make data-driven instructional decisions and to create opportunities for intervention and enrichment as needed.

At Wilmington Manor, we use the Responsive Classroom approach with all students participating in Morning Meeting and Closing Circle on a daily basis. We also utilize a school wide behavior support program which encourages and recognizes the positive behavior of our students.

Curriculum Highlights
At Wilmington Manor, we are starting our third year with an instructional focus on Writing. With the support of a professional development grant from the Delaware Department of Education, our teachers have received ongoing training in writing instruction. As a result, our students in all grade levels use writing to demonstrate their understanding of content in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies.

Our students in grades three through five are able to participate in chorus, band, math club, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Arts, Engineering, and Mathematics) Club. All students at Wilmington Manor complete multiple STEAM projects during our Innovation Weeks held several times during each school year. At Wilmington Manor, we value parent and family involvement. Each school year, we hold several evening curricular events for the whole family focused on topics such as literacy, math, and STEAM activities.
