Indian River High School promotes an expectation of excellence which allows IRHS students to maintain high levels of academic growth and achievement while preparing them for rigorous college and career requirements. In addition to a strong core academic program, IRHS offers a wide variety of Career and Technical Pathways including engineering, marketing, graphic design, construction and our newly added Allied Health, Academy of Finance, and Teacher Academy programs of study. IRHS also boasts a nationally acclaimed arts program including instrumental, vocal and studio arts, a Marine JROTC Leadership program, competitive athletic teams, and a variety of student organizations that have received accolades at the state and national levels.

Curriculum Highlights
Indian River High School’s rigorous academic program provides students of all levels with a variety of options to prepare for their college and career goals with a focus on critical thinking and project based learning. IRHS offers ten Advanced Placement courses including Biology, Calculus AB, Chemistry, English Language, English Literature, Environmental Science, Psychology, Spanish Language, Statistics, and U.S. History. Our students perform significantly above the national average on these AP exams. Additionally, students can earn college credit by taking any of the following dual enrollment courses: Delaware Tech’s English 101/102, Sociology 111, or Biology 120 (Anatomy & Physiology I).
