Exemplary Programs
Kent County Secondary Intensive Learning Center (KCSILC) provides a meaningful and measurable learning experience for students who have not been successful in the traditional school setting. KCSILC is specifically designed for students who have experienced attendance, behavior and/or achievement problems. KCSILC is committed to providing a safe, positive, student centered academically comprehensive program that is sensitive to the varied learning styles of all students. KCSILC offers an individualized educational program that includes academics, counseling and online learning. Our goal is to empower our students to become productive, confident, active and contributing members of their communities. Student’s success is central to the mission of the program, which includes learning across academic areas, behavioral management and life skills.

Curriculum Highlights
The Kent County Secondary Intensive Learning Center (KCSILC) targets high school students with special education needs. It offers a rigorous high school academic curriculum that is aligned with district and state standards. The teachers and staff work hard to modify and accommodate the curriculum to meet the needs of our diverse population. We offer an online credit recovery program to help students graduate on time. Additionally, the KCSILC offers two vocational pathways (Career Explorations and Computer Technology) to help prepare students for the workforce.
