The MHS Creative and Performing Arts Department provides a wide variety of educational opportunities. The spring musical, Hairspray, featured over 100 students who sang and danced to sell-out crowds. The Cavalier Marching Band obtained its highest competition scores in its history and performed its final show in Disneyworld. A new addition to the choral program was the “Manchoir”, a chorus comprised of middle and high school young men. The FCCLA programs have blossomed with the new professional culinary arts kitchen and numerous community service projects sponsored by the Students in the Human and Child Development. Operated by students with teacher oversight, Cavalier Bank powered by M & T and Wilmington Trust, represents a unique opportunity for teens to explore the fundamentals of banking, money management, and the financial industry. The MHS AFJR ROTC unit received a rating of "Exceeds Standards" on it Head Quarters Inspection for the second year.
