Curriculum Highlights
Classroom instruction at Mount Pleasant Elementary is focused on teaching children to become strong readers, writers, mathematicians, critical thinkers, and respectful and responsible citizens of our community. Students are taught to support their opinions and thinking with facts and evidence. Students also receive instruction in Technology, Physical Education, Music, Art, Library, and Guidance. STEM based hands-on learning and projects in science and social studies encourage students to collect, organize, and communicate information to others, and to persevere through their work as teams. Our curriculum is aligned to the Common Core Standards in English Language Arts and Math, and we strive to integrate Next Generation Science Standards with our instruction to make learning relevant and meaningful for everyone.
