Curriculum Highlights
We provide a comprehensive curriculum for our students that engages them both academically and socially. Each grade level is organized into teams. Seventh and eighth grade teams offer advance classes in English Language Arts and Math. The advanced courses work at a faster pace than the other classes. We also offer Spanish I, a high school level course for our advanced students. At WMS we utilize Big Ideas as our math curriculum. We use Prentice Hall as our ELA curriculum. Our science teachers are trained in the science kits available from the State. Our Social Studies teachers utilize the Delaware Recommended Curriculum provided by the State. Students also participate in career pathway exploratory classes that range from various levels of Art classes, FFA courses and plant and science technology, technology and business courses along with both vocal and instrumental music classes. All of our courses are aligned with the Common Core Standards.
