Curriculum Highlights
North Laurel Elementary school has adopted Houghton-Mifflin's Journeys series as a primary tool to implement CCSS based instruction for all students. The same goals are in place in our math instruction with the help of Houghton-Mifflin's Go Math series. We are in the process of transitioning to the Next Generation Science standards to guide our science instruction. Our social studies instruction is derived from the Delaware Recommended Curriculum. We use interventions such as System 44, iRead, Read 180, and Go Math for students in the RTI process, among other resources. NLES is fully committed to preparing all students for success in the 21st century (PASS 21).
