Curriculum Highlights
|
GMS has superior academics. Students may enroll in honors math and ELA classes, as well as take a variety of exploratory classes such as art, music, computer, digital design, physical education, health, and Spanish. In addition, students may receive extra academic support by being enrolled in ELL, READ180, Math Academy and academic tutorials for reading and math. Each morning all students participate in Response to Intervention (RTI), which allows students to spend 40 minutes getting additional academic support in math and/or reading. GMS also offers AVID for students in all grade levels. “AVID, Advancement Via Individual Determination, is an elementary through postsecondary college readiness system that is designed to increase school-wide learning and performance” (www.avid.org).
