Exemplary Programs
Smyrna Elementary School offers programs to meet the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of students in grades K to 4. The highly qualified faculty uses current research-based teaching strategies and techniques to ensure success for all learners. Our Common Core State Standards aligned curriculum includes a problem-based interactive math program and a research-based instructional Reading/Language Arts program. The Smyrna Triad Enrichment Program (STEP) provides enrichment to students in whole classroom and pullout settings.

The school PTO supports off-site field trips, on-site assemblies and coordinates Family Nights to create a fun way for our families to spend quality time together while connecting to their school community.

The Smyrna Pride program offers students incentives for demonstrating the district core values of perseverance, respect, responsibility, integrity and compassion and also organizes a bullying awareness and prevention week twice a year with

Curriculum Highlights
Curriculum building continues to be focused on the Common Core State Standards and Grade Level Expectations, particularly in the core areas of Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. Administration meets quarterly with grade level teams to review and reflect upon assessment data and to discuss strategies and motivational techniques for improving students’ success rate. Grade level teams meet regularly throughout the school year to ensure that the pacing and delivery of instruction matches the State Standards.
