Exemplary Programs
The Lake Forest School District has recently completed extensive renovations and additions to its schools, particularly Lake Forest High School. At the High School, additions were made to the Gymnasium area this includes a state of the art Strength and Conditioning Center, Auxiliary Gymnasium dedicated to Wrestling, Cheerleading, and Volleyball, a fully equipped Cardio Room and Physical Education classroom. New additions were also made to the auditorium for the Band and Chorus programs. Complete renovations of the Art classroom, Family and Consumer Science classroom and kitchen, Computer Aided-Design classroom, Technology Education classroom and shop, and 10 additional classrooms were also undertaken. Taken as a whole, these renovations will ensure that the physical health of students is addressed. Student exposure to and appreciation for the arts will be enhanced. The foundation of our student’s success will guarantee their preparation for 21st century academic demands.

Curriculum Highlights
All schools in the Lake Forest School District have embraced the use of Learning-Focused Strategies™ as the guiding classroom curricular organization tool. Alignment to the Delaware State Standards is assured through the creation of instructional units in all academic areas. Lake Forest High School has implemented a strategic school-wide effort to use Learning-Focused Strategies to improve instruction in the critical thinking skills of reasoning, interpreting, making connections, and extending meaning. Our purpose is to show measurable individual student growth as indicated by improved scores on national, state, and local curriculum-based assessments and indicators.
