Exemplary Programs
Lake Forest High School (LFHS) is a dynamic institution that prides itself on serving all students. The school uses a 1:1 technology initiative, where students are given their own laptop to use each year, to move education and learning forward with changing times. Recent renovations to the building include new sports facilities, Agriculture classroom and workshops, performing arts areas, library, and gymnasiums. The school has a fully operational strength and conditioning center, pool, and auditorium. Our students, and community, have taken advantage of the new facilities by participating in a thriving drama program, as well as an award-winning marching band, concert, and jazz band as well. The school has a large number of electives in all departments to appeal to a number of interests. LFHS continues to offer multiple AP courses and dual-enrollment courses so that students may earn college credits while still in high school. Lake Forest High School is truly a school for everyone.

Curriculum Highlights
All schools in the Lake Forest School District have embraced the use of Learning-Focused Strategies as the guiding classroom curricular organizational tool. Lake Forest High School (LFHS) has implemented a strategic school-wide effort to use L-F Strategies to employ instructional practices that are data-driven and promote student achievement in all content areas. Alignment to the Delaware State Standards is assured through the creation of instructional units in all academic areas. Our primary purpose is to show measurable individual student growth as indicated by improved scores on national, state, and local curriculum-based assessments and indicators. The ultimate goal here at LFHS is to produce critical thinkers who are equipped to solve real-world problems, as well as career and college ready for a multi-lingual world.
