Exemplary Programs
Hodgson has a long tradition of preparing students to be both career and college ready. Its motto, “We’re already ready!”, speaks to the success of its students, who have "already" participated in paid work placements and earned college credits long before their high school graduation. During the 9th grade year, students will choose to focus their study in one of 16 programs: Academy of Manufacturing & Engineering, Auto Body, Auto Technology, Carpentry, Computer Network Administration, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Dental Assisting, Early Childhood Education, Electrical Trades, Health Information Technology, Industrial Mechanics/Millwright Technology, Masonry, Nursing Technology, Plumbing, or Technical Drafting. Continuing their high school experience, they will earn career credentials while completing rigorous academic coursework. In addition, students can round out their preparation through athletics, student organizations, dual enrollment college courses and leadership development.

Curriculum Highlights
Hodgson provides an integrated vocational and academic curriculum that prepares students for employment and/or college. Using state assessment results and the results of the district’s Unified Summative Assessment Program, teachers and Instructional Services staff continually revise existing curricula in English, Math, Science, Social Studies and Spanish to ensure the alignment of courses with common core state standards. The school has implemented diagnostic formative assessments to identify specific student needs, inform placement decisions, and direct teaching and learning. The integration of technology is playing an increasingly important role in instruction as exemplified by the expanded use of a digital curriculum, state-of-the-art computers and devices, and educational software in every academic classroom and career program.
