Exemplary Programs
The Lake Forest School District Intensive Learning Center (ILC) is a specialized program of services provided for students whose social and emotional issues impede their learning in the traditional school setting. Special education teachers, curriculum level teachers, the school psychologist, the behavior specialist, school counselor and paraprofessionals collaborate to support students’ unique behavioral and social needs as they progress through the school curriculum. Social skills groups and activities are paired with a highly structured environment so that students may achieve individual academic success. As they progress, students are provided varied and increased opportunities in a less restrictive setting.
