Exemplary Programs
Every type of student can find their place at POLYTECH and can take advantage of numerous opportunities to find the complete high school experience. In addition to excellent academic and career area programs, POLYTECH competes in 19 state sports programs. Students participate in wide range of clubs and activities while actively participating in competitions for Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) throughout the school year. Career area students compete in local and state events that allow our gold medalists to move on to national contests within Health Occupation Student Association, Educators Rising, Envirothon, Business Professionals of America, and SkillsUSA. The POLYTECH marching band is active in regional competitions, and the drama program supports two large productions annually. These activities coupled with pep rallies, dances, schoolwide celebrations, field trips, and monthly talent shows create a fun, dynamic, and spirit-filled school.

Curriculum Highlights
POLYTECH is one of few comprehensive technical schools in the nation that offers a rigorous academic experience with a career focus for every student. POLYTECH embodies an education that enables students to be college and career ready. Few schools are able to offer students the opportunity to earn an industry credential, participate in experiential COOP program, and earn college credits through Advanced Placement and/or dual enrollment coursework. Furthermore, graduates often use their industry certification to work in such jobs as a certified nursing assistant or cosmetologist while simultaneously continuing post-secondary studies. In recent years, POLYTECH has added nine Advanced Placement courses and fourteen Dual Enrollment college courses through partners Wilmington University and Delaware Technical Community College. These opportunities coupled with coursework in one of the twenty career areas provide well-rounded options for students.
