Exemplary Programs
South Dover follows a “Student by student, need by need” approach to education. With a large emphasis on our core subjects, math and reading, students are provided differentiated instruction in small groups that are based on assessment data and focus on individual student needs. We are also able to address our academic needs through our Extra-Time Enrichment programs, focusing on both math and reading, and our Gifted and Talented program (ACT). In addition, South Dover houses the district’s expanding Spanish Immersion Program, which currently covers Kindergarten through 2nd Grade students.
Our school promotes positive choices through our school-wide PBS program, in which students who consistently make positive choices are recognized and rewarded with daily incentives and attendance at our monthly PBS Celebrations. We are proud of our South Dover Sports Trips, where monthly, we take up to 30 students to Dover High Sporting Events based on PBS performance.

Curriculum Highlights
South Dover houses one of the district’s Spanish Immersion Programs, currently reaching Kindergarten through 3rd Grade students and growing. In the Spanish Immersion Program, the focus is on building proficiency – being able to use the language. Students learn academic content through a second language. The academic benefits of this program include achieving high levels of language proficiency in the immersion language, satisfying the World Language graduation requirement prior to exiting eighth grade and, based on research, performing as well or better than their non-immersion peers on standardized tests of English and Mathematics.
