Curriculum Highlights
St. Georges provides an integrated vocational and academic curriculum that prepares students for employment and/or college. Using state assessment results and the results of the district’s Unified Summative Assessment Program, teachers and Instructional Services staff continually revise existing curricula in English, Math, Science, Social Studies and Spanish to ensure the alignment of courses with common core state standards. The school has implemented diagnostic formative assessments to identify specific student needs, inform placement decisions, and direct teaching and learning. The integration of technology is playing an increasingly important role in instruction as exemplified by the expanded use of a digital curriculum, state-of-the-art computers and devices, and educational software in every academic classroom and career program.
