Exemplary Programs
St. Georges offers 16 career programs, each of which has a detailed program of study overseen by an advisory group of related business representatives. Students make their career selection after exploring a variety of career programs in ninth grade. They work toward meeting specified competencies, leading to a career certificate awarded upon graduation, in addition to a high school diploma. The career programs are: Athletic Healthcare Services, Auto Technology, Biotechnology, Business Technology, Carpentry, Culinary Arts, Early Childhood Education, Electrical Trades, Emergency Medical Services, Health Information Technology, Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning, Medical Assisting, Nursing Technology, Plumbing, Technical Drafting & Design, and Web & Print Technology. The school has many business partnerships and a cooperative employment network providing paid work experiences.

Curriculum Highlights
St. Georges provides an integrated vocational and academic curriculum that prepares students for employment and/or college. Using state assessment results and the results of the district’s Unified Summative Assessment Program, teachers and Instructional Services staff continually revise existing curricula in English, Math, Science and Social Studies to ensure the alignment of courses with common core state standards and Smarter Balanced Assessment expectations. The school has implemented diagnostic formative assessments to identify specific student needs, inform placement decisions, and direct teaching and learning. The integration of technology is playing an increasingly important role in instruction as exemplified by the expanded use of a digital curriculum, state-of-the-art hardware, and educational software in every academic classroom and career program.
