Exemplary Programs
Carrie Downie Elementary School has several exemplary programs designed to promote academic achievement and success. Included are Integrated Language Arts, Response to Intervention, Investigations Math Curriculum, Foss Science Kits, Developmental Guidance, School-wide Title 1, ELL classes, Volunteer Mentoring Program, and a focus on integrating technology at all levels. Carrie Downie is also working with groups to become a compassionate school. Throughout the year, the Leadership Team works with the staff and parents to develop a Success Plan for the school. Our vision: We, the Dolphins, are a community that supports each other, takes academic risks, and accepts all challenges to unlock the full potential of our 21st century learners to succeed in an ever-changing world.

Curriculum Highlights
The academic programs at Carrie Downie School are based upon common core standards, grade level expectations, and board approved curricula. Our students are provided with a well-rounded educational experience that is tailored to their needs. Differentiated and rigorous instruction is exercised daily within the classroom. In addition, the staff utilizes scientifically researched-based instructional strategies that promote higher order thinking, problem solving, and effective communication skills to ensure that students meet the standard.
