Exemplary Programs
The Kirk community is committed to providing our students a broad range of educational, social, performing arts and athletic experiences. We do this in order to meet the global needs of students as they develop into responsible, productive and successful members of society. With the involvement of parents, staff, and community we guide our students in the difficult transition from childhood to adolescence. Our programs are designed to provide opportunities as students develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Curriculum Highlights
Kirk offers a number of academic opportunities for its students. Mathematics and English Language Arts are offered at a variety of levels to meet the needs of all students. This includes intensive intervention for those students requiring more support featuring Think Through Math and Read 180 to higher level math and Cambridge ELA, Science and Social classes for those needing enrichment. Our gifted and talented program also includes a pull-out program such as skinnies that targets individual enrichment needs and allows for flexible groupings. Students experience advanced materials appropriate for them via differentiated instruction strategies in all Kirk classrooms. Our AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program provides academic support for students that prepares them for college eligibility and success. AVID also brings many teaching techniques to Kirk’s classrooms including Cornell notes, graphic organizers, and collaborative groups.
