Exemplary Programs
Our Science Olympiad Teams have placed first over the past twenty-four years in state and participated in the national competitions. Program offerings incorporate the inclusion model for disabled students. The 6th, 7th and 8th grade Math Leagues consistently place first, second and/or third in regional and state competitions. The band and chorus have achieved regional and national awards. Students score in the top range in state and district testing. Students have won geography, computer and spelling competitions on the regional and state levels. Honor Roll and Improvement Awards consistently reflect 50% of our student body each marking period. Distinguished Honor Roll consistently reflects 10% of the student body each marking period. National Junior Honor Society members represent 20% of our 8th grade students. Intramural sports, clubs and activities are offered as after-school programs.

Curriculum Highlights
Our extensive programs encourage and motivate students to set goals for obtaining academic excellence and participation in extra-curricular activities. Extended day and school day programs include clubs, tutoring programs, service groups, Student Council, Honor Society and peer mentoring. More than fifty percent of our student body makes the Honor Roll each marking period. Our Distinguished Honor Roll consistently reflects 10% of the student body each marking period. Band, chorus and string orchestra have achieved regional and national awards. Students participate annually in music festivals around the country. Both band and chorus are elective classes meeting daily. H.B. students are consistently represented in the All State Band, All State Chorus and the district orchestra program. Math League teams consistently place first, second and third in the state and regional competitions.
