Exemplary Programs
At Cooke Elementary, our mission is to create a positive and safe learning environment where children and adults are RESPECTFUL towards each other, RESPONSIBLE for their learning and behavior and READY to receive and/or deliver instructional services and programs that meet the needs of our diverse population of students. Our exemplary programs are based on Mr. Cooke's focus on service. Consequently, our Service Club was involved in monthly service projects where our staff and students collected, donated and made a variety of items for local children and organizations that serve children and their families. Exemplary programs also include our fulltime talented and gifted program, band, strings and chorus programs, and the many school-wide enrichment opportunities we provide such as Odyssey of the Mind, Science Olympiad, and Lego League, to name a few. The Boys and Girls Club offers exemplary on-site before-and-aftercare options beginning at 6:30 a.m.

Curriculum Highlights
At Cooke Elementary we follow the district-approved curriculum and Common Core State Standards for all subject areas. Our reading curriculum consists of whole group vocabulary and comprehension instruction and small group skill-focused lessons in fluency, comprehension, vocabulary or phonics based on students' academic needs. In math, students enjoy working together with daily routines that focus on helping them increase their fluency, in cooperative groups to problem solve and communicate mathematically, and in whole group to share solutions and strategies for solving and applying a wide variety of mathematical concepts. Cooke Elementary is a Positive Behavior Support school where school-wide behavior expectations are emphasized in order for all students and staff members to have the tools which promote positive relationships amongst all stake holders.
