Over 100 students participated in AP exams, while 220 IB examinations were taken in the spring of 2008. Mount Pleasant High School has an outstanding teaching staff, with over sixty five percent holding masters or doctoral degrees. Our school hosts the district’s only JROTC magnet program which has U.S. Army affiliation. With our Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program, students are assisted and mentored in their effort towards post-secondary study while taking a higher level rigorous curriculum. The Fine Arts programs continually demonstrate continued excellence while representing the school in our community with outreach programs such as the Meals on Wheels program. And, our athletic teams are consistently successful throughout both conference and state competition. Mount Pleasant also offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in conjunction with the district’s IB Middle Years Program housed at Talley Middle School.
