Exemplary Programs
|
The Community-Based Program is designed to meet the educational needs of students with serious and profound learning disabilities. The program provides opportunities for students to get vocational training in community work-study in addition to their regular academic program.
The Visual Arts and Photography programs provide instruction in Art orientation, Ceremics, Sculpture, Drawing, Jewelry, Airbrush, and Photography. The instrumental music program includes Marching, Symphonic, and Jazz bands. The choral music program includes chorus, concert choir, chorale, and madrigals.
Sigma Beta Jr. Fraternity and Alpha Sigma Beta Jr. Sorority are two different clubs designed for primarily African American youth grades 9-12. The goal of the two groups is to learn how to make good choices, develop character, and get involved in the community.
The Sportsmanship Program encourages student-athletes to develop school activities related to sportsmanship and help support our athletic programs.

We also operate a successful Jobs for Delaware Grads Program, Co-operative Work Experience Program, and an outstanding Community-Based Program to meet the needs of students with exceptional needs. The Science Olympiad, Math League, Academic Bowl, Raider Reader, Leader Corps, National Honor Society, National Science Honor Society, Fall Play, and Spring Musical are among our outstanding co-curricular activities. Every student is encouraged to develop their special area of excellence.
