Exemplary Programs
P.S. duPont Middle School provides numerous opportunities for students to excel both academically and socially. We are proud to house the following District middle level programs: Gifted and Talented, Brandywine Specialized Autism Program (BSAP), Emotional Support Program (ESP), and the Community Based Program. In addition,students of all backgrounds participate in our award winning Band, Choir, Steel Drums, Math League, Lego League, Teacher Student Association (TSA), Odyssey of the Mind, and Science Olympiad just to name a few. The National Junior Honor Society NJHS) is another program that not only recognizes students for high academic excellence but, also participates in community service projects in and outside of school. The NJHS along with members of our Positive Behavior Support Program (PBS), sponsor various fundraisers to support programs and activities for students. Lastly, students are also provided the opportunity to become members of various teacher sponsored clubs.

Curriculum Highlights
The Academic Program at P.S. duPont Middle school currently provides instruction for approximately 950 students in grades 6-8. Students attend seven 42 minute classes per day. Several curriculum programs are available to students based on need. Self-contained classes are available for our Students with Autism and Community Based students. Students in these class follow a specialized curriculum based on their Individualized Educational Program (IEP). All other special needs students and ELL students follow the inclusive educational model, attending classes with their peers. Math classes are assigned to students based on their ability. Math courses available include grade level math, honors, transitional algebra, pre-algebra, algebra I and geometry. Honors and grade level classes are also provided for students in ELA, Science, and Social Studies. Students assigned to the Gifted and Talented program attend classes with other Gifted and Talented students except for related arts classes.
