Exemplary Programs
Celebrating the achievements of students and supporting their development are beliefs exhibited daily at Maple Lane. We do “whatever it takes” to help children become successful. Fall 2017, we will implement a Spanish Immersion program in Kindergarten. We are a Positive Behavior Support School. This program teaches children the behaviors that are expected at school. Students who follow rules and make the right choices are praised and rewarded. We maintain a consistent, fair and positive environment. Maple has been a Positive Behavior Support Star School. In addition, students are recognized during Student of Character luncheons, awards assemblies and "Maple Mondays," which is a school-wide spirit event. We take much pride in our family engagement events.

Curriculum Highlights
Academic goals begin with the Common Core State Standards. Data drives our instruction. Results from assessments help determine instructional goals for students. Our Title I Program provides the services of a reading specialist who offers additional small group language arts instruction for at-risk students. With our Title 1 funds, we provide additional support through academic tutors during the school day. Our core reading instruction uses the Harcourt Journeys reading program from K-5th. Our math curriculum is the Eureka Math program for grades K-5. Science instruction utilizes the Smithsonian Science Kits. These kits provide hands on activities to develop science concepts. Maple embraces the Special Education Inclusion Model to support all students. Our ESL tutor and teacher enhances the instruction of those students learning English as a second language by using small group instruction and a specialized language curriculum.
