Curriculum Highlights
Lancashire is committed to following the Common Core State Standards in its English Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies instruction. Teachers use Eureka Math as the primary math curriculum. This curriculum allows students to go beyond memorization of facts to understanding “real world” application of math concepts. For ELA, we use a combination of supportive literature, expository text and the Journeys Reading series to enhance students’ comprehension, vocabulary and writing skills. Technology is integrated across the curriculum in both content classes and specials (library, PE, music and art). Each classroom provides Response to Intervention (RTI), small group instruction and extended activities to provide opportunities for a rigorous academic program for all students. Our students participate in the Accelerated Reading (AR) and the Dreambox math website program. Our English Language Tutor provides support for students who are advancing their knowledge of English.
